What is the Nurse/Staff/Resident Ratio?
The Broadway is licensed to accommodate 126 residents and based on full capacity each LPN Charge Nurse would average 31 residents with RN superivision and each CNA would have 10 residents depending on the shift worked. We also have a full service Housekeeping, Dietary, Maintenance, Laundry, Activity, and Administrative staff.
What pharmacy does your facility use?
Our facility is proud to use locally operated Savoie's Pharmacy in Raceland, LA.
How will I (the family member) be kept informed?
"We establish upon admission to the facility a Responsible Party contact that will be notified of any emergency, change in condition, or financial concerns. Also, we schedule meetings called ""Care Plans"" once a quarter with our nursing staff to discuss the status of your loved one's care."
When are bills due?
Statements are sent out prior to the first of the month and are due by the 5th of each month.
What are the visiting hours?
There are no set visitation hours at The Broadway in order to accommodate all family members, however if you do visit after 9 pm we ask that you check in at the nurses' station with the Hall Nurse to let them know you are visiting.
Can I take my loved one out of the facility?
We encourage families to take their loved one out of the facility, however we ask for notification one day in advance in order to make sure adequate arrangements have been made. Medicare guidelines require Medicare stay residents to return to the facility by Midnight on a visit because overnight visits are not allowed.
Who is responsible for transportation should my loved one have a routine doctor's appointment?
Personal family physician visits are allowed and transportation will be provided by the facility van. Special appointments need to be made by the facility.
What about diet and nutrition?
The needs of each resident's specific and individualized diet is ordered by their primary physician and reviewed monthly or as needed by a Registered Dietician.. Our Dietary Manager will monitor the individual needs of each resident and offer snacks and hydration regularly.
May I dine with my loved one?
Yes, we encourage family members to dine with their loved one for a fee of $2.00.
My loved one has fragile skin, do you have someone who specializes in skin care?
Yes, we have a nurse who specializes in maintaining skin integrity and also preventing any areas that are at risk.
What about baths?
In order to maintain proper hygiene, shower baths and whirlpool baths are given three times a week and based on desires or needs. Our large shower area offers private showers and whirlpool baths to promote skin integrity.
Do you have a fall prevention program?
Yes, we monitor residents at risk for falls daily and make changes to their care plan as needed.
What if there is a weight loss?
Each resident's weight is monitored monthly and, if determined necessary, more frequently. We meet weekly with the Dietary Manager and Nursing Department Heads to discuss weight loss interventions and preventions in order to sustain each resident's quality of life.
What if I have a concern or complaint?

What about my loved one's spiritual needs?
To meet our residents' spiritual needs, the Home supports and assists each resident in maintaining his or her preferred spiritual and religious observances, practices and affiliations. Regular religious services are held on the premises.
Who is responsible for laundry?
We offer Laundry services at no additional charge, however if you wish to do your loved ones clothing you may do so. Please mark all clothing items upon admission with the first initial and last name.
Are pets allowed to visit?
Yes, we allow pets to visit and encourage you to bring them to your loved one. Please keep the pets on a leash at all times and have tags or papers to verify vaccinations.
