Activities

The Activity Department strives to provide high quality programs in order to meet the social, emotional, physical, cognitive and spiritual needs of all residents. An Activity Director organizes and supervises programs and events. The Activity Director also recruits and directs the volunteers in their endeavors.

Programs are offered daily, evenings and weekends. They come in many different forms: one-on-one visits, small intimate groups to large group gatherings.

These programs increase opportunities for socialization and enjoyment, promote dignity and self-esteem, stimulate interests in their immediate surroundings and support the highest level of functioning possible for the individual resident.

Examples of indoor activities are: daily exercise for fun, baking, movies, restorative care and rehabilitation programs, parties of the month, bingo, manicures, pedicures, reminiscing, happy hour with local bands.

Examples of outdoor activities are: patio games, gardening, picnics (ice cream & strawberry socials), barbecues, cook outs for special occasions.
